Virginia Jean Wiese, age 76, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, at Apache Junction Healthcare in Apache Junction, Arizona.
A celebration of life visitation will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 4:00-6:00pm at Lake Park Methodist Church in Lake Park, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00am at the church in Lake Park with visitation prior to the service from 10:00-11:00am. Memorials may be left in Virginia's name at the church.
Virginia was born on February 5, 1949, at home in Sioux Valley, Minnesota, to Leslie and Geneva Kuehl. She grew up surrounded by family and faith, later marrying the love of her life, Joel Wiese, on May 28, 1966. Together they farmed and built a life rooted in hard work and community.
Virginia was active in many local organizations, including 4-H, the Pork Producers, and the Township Board. She also shared her time and talents through a variety of jobs over the years, working at Sioux Valley-Round Lake School Library, Lake Park Golf Course, the Walmart Bakery in Spirit Lake, and the Walmart Vision Center in Worthington, Minnesota.
Virginia had a gift for baking and delighted many with her cookies, pies, and cakes. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed wintering in Arizona with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joel Wiese; daughter Kathy (Jeff) Doeden; sons Philip (Terri Luhmann) Wiese and Richard (Deb) Wiese; grandchildren Brittany (Dustin) Larson, Nathen Doeden, Kimberly (Max Wersland) Wiese, Caitlin Doeden, Mandalynn (Cory Guetsloff) Wiese, and Dalton (Kathryn) Vacek-Wiese; and great-grandchildren Madeline, Abigail, and Everly Larson, Zena and Leon Wiese. She is also survived by her brothers Donald (Patricia) Kuehl, Douglas (Kathy) Kuehl, Duane (Barb) Kuehl, and Bruce (Kathy) Kuehl.
