A visitation for Steve Whitehouse, age 71 of Spirit Lake, will be held at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5 - 7 pm.

Steve Allen Whitehouse was born May 18, 1954, to Robert and Bonnie Whitehouse in Estherville, Iowa and departed life on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 71.
He received his education at Estherville, graduating in 1972. He went on to attend Iowa Lakes Community College graduating in May of 1974 and then Mankato State University graduating in December of 1976. He returned to work with his dad in the heavy equipment construction business before beginning a successful career in equipment sales. He worked as a salesman for Swaney Equipment in Fort Dodge, selling John Deere construction equipment. Later he became the branch manager of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company in Sioux City. He worked there until his heart attack in 2018.
On April 14, 1999, he was united in marriage to Eileen Duhn at Little Brown Church.
In his younger years, Steve enjoyed bowling and remained a lifelong sports enthusiast. He was an avid fan of golf, baseball, football, and basketball. A proud supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Steve is survived by his wife, Eileen of 26 years; siblings: David (Karen) Whitehouse of Maple Grove, Minnesota; Mike Whitehouse of Chandler, Arizona; Peggy Brashear of Estherville, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jeffrey and Kathy. Also, his companion cat "Patches”, who rode around with him.
