Rodney Ferguson

Rodney S Ferguson, 67, of the Lakes area, passed away on October 13th, 2025, surrounded by friends.

Rod’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life at the Lost Gar and Paddlefish Bar in Arnolds Park. This will take place on November 8th at 6pm. All who knew Rod are invited to attend. Food will be provided.

Rod grew up in Boone, Iowa and had multiple careers that he liked to talk about. He drove truck for Fareway, owned his own bar, was a logging foreman in Texas, a realtor, car salesman and antique dealer. He had many passions.

He loved life and lived it to its fullest. The last few years he loved going to the various restaurants and if you knew Rod, you knew he enjoyed fine dining and the nightlife that Okoboji offered. He brought many people together to form new friendships. We can all take example of his pursuit to enjoy life, as life is short.

Rod is survived by his former wife Sandy Ferguson, his son by marriage Chane and daughter-in-law Dawn, grandchildren Cole, Mia and Jesa whom he was very proud of.

His life was a rich and diverse tapestry, and he will be missed by many.
