Pearl Droll Trebbien, age 95 of Milford, passed away on July 22, 2021 at Keelson Harbour Memory Care in Spirit Lake IA.

A funeral Mass will be held on August 10th at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milford. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 5:00-6:30 pm at St. Joseph's Parish Center in Milford.

Pearl was born on August 5,1925 in Milford to August (Augie) and Winnifred (Winnie) Droll. She was raised in Milford and graduated from Milford High School at age 16, class of 1942. She was the band majorette along with her sister, Edith.

Pearl married James (Jim) Trebbien on October 28,1943. They were 8 weeks short of celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary when Jim passed away. While Jim was serving in the Coast Guard during WW II she would travel to see him when he was on leave or in port. After his discharge they moved to the Trebbien family farm south of Milford where their 4 children were born. In 1960 they moved to San Diego, California for 1 1/2 years before returning to Milford. They purchased their home on Okoboji Ave and lived there for 58 years. They spent countless hours fixing up and improving their pride and joy home and enjoying their porch swing on the front porch visiting with friends and family

Pearl was a stay-at-home mom until the kids were grown and she went back to work at Murray Drug Store. She then went to work at Northwest Federal in Milford where she became the branch manager until her retirement.

Pearl loved to golf and played in many couples and women’s leagues until she was almost 90. She designed and sewed most of her own clothing, knit many blankets and prayer shawls, was a great cook and was well known for her family-favorite potato salad, did daily crossword puzzles, volunteered at St. Joseph’s Catholic church both in the parish office and on many committees and her church circle, enjoyed playing cards and games, crafts of any kind, growing flowers and loved to go shopping!

Pearl is survived by her children Judy Nielson of Scottsdale, AZ, Jim (Patty) Trebbien of Omaha, NE, Don (Mary) Trebbien of Lansing, IA, and Carol (Tim) Schomburg of Rochester, MN, 10 grandchildren: Jamie Coyle, Jayson McBride, Jeff Trebbien, Katie Trebbien, Ben Trebbien, Lee Goldsmith, Beth Nordaune, Jill Becker, Kyle Schomburg and Jena Schomburg, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, her brothers; Augie, Dale, Ira and Jimmy Droll and her sisters Edith Dalton, Rene Cattermole, and Marge Didlein.
