A Celebration of Life for Morris Beck, age 68, of Lake Park will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 4:00-7:00pm at the Community Center in Lake Park. The family requests that guests drive cars worked on by Morris to the Celebration of Life, as a tribute to his passion and craftsmanship.
Morris "Peach" Beck, son of Leonard and Melvina Beck, was born May 9, 1956, in Worthington, Minnesota. He attended Round Lake High School and Jackson Vocational Technical to become an auto body technician.
Peach was married to Konnie (Stanton) Beck, with whom he welcomed two children, Rachel and Jennifer. Though they later divorced, Peach and Konnie remained lifelong friends.
Peach lived in Lake Park for 45 years. In his early years, he opened Beck's Body Shop. After a short time, he went to work with Joe Hornick at Lake Park Body Shop, where he spent the majority of his career. Peach had a passion for his craft and restored cars well into retirement. He had a knack for fixing engines and automobiles, no project too big, too small, or too bent out of shape. He possessed an extraordinary talent, and his legacy lives on in the countless cars he restored to perfection.
Peach was a friend to many, often sharing a joke or laugh with pals or strangers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family, and he never missed an opportunity to go for an evening drive with the windows down.
Peach passed away on June 10, 2024. He is survived by his two daughters, Rachel (Nate) Kuchta and Jennifer (Eric Sandmann Jr.) Beck, sisters Diane Ryan and Donna (Kenneth) Hamman, brother David (Jan) Poppen, grandchildren Jaedon and Ellie Kuchta, nieces, nephews, and dozens of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brothers, Denny, Doug, Daniel, and Dale.
