Madge Voss

A funeral service for Madge Voss, age 98, of Spirit Lake, will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 20 from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Madge Ilene Voss, the daughter of Earl and Zella Bentley, was born April 1, 1921 in Superior, Iowa. She graduated from Spirit Lake High School. On January 31, 1943, Madge was married to Ike Miller at Camp Adair in Oregon. They lived in Spirit Lake where Madge worked as a cook at school and later at the Dickinson County Hospital. In her earlier years, Madge enjoyed sewing and watching television, especially the Lawrence Welk Show. She loved going on family vacations visiting several of the fifty states where she collected state plates. After Ike passed away, Madge married Raymond Voss on July 6, 1985. She enjoyed baking, participating in her church circle, listening to books on tape and going for rides in the car. Madge passed away June 15, 2019 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-eight years of age. She is survived by her sons, Richard Miller and Daniel Miller; daughter-in-law, Donna Miller; sister, Myrtle Caskey; grandson, Christopher Lynn and great-grandson, Maddox Lynn. Madge was preceded in death by two husbands, Ike Miller and Raymond Voss; parents, Earl and Zella Bentley; step-father, Hazen Randolph; two sisters, Margie Russlle and Ruth Yarns.
