Linda Harbst

A Mass of Christian Burial for Linda Harbst, age 75 of Spirit Lake, will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Milford. A visitation for Linda will be on Friday, August 28th from 5:00-7:00 PM with the Rosary being recited at 4:30 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Linda Diane Harbst, age 75, passed away on August 23, 2026, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Linda was born on June 16, 1951, in Hartley, Iowa, to Robert and Delores Bryant. She attended Sheldon High School and later continued her education at Iowa Lakes Community College. On May 5, 1972, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jerry Harbst, in Sheldon, Iowa.

Linda was a devoted homemaker who cared deeply for her family. After living in Sheldon, she and Jerry made their home in the Spirit Lake area beginning in 1975. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake.

Nothing brought Linda more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She treasured every opportunity to be with them and was one of their biggest fans, proudly attending their sporting events and cheering them on.

Linda also knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. She loved soaking up the sunshine, playing cards, and making trips to the casinos to try her luck.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry Harbst; children: Amy Harbst Baschke, Jill (Jeff) Teten, Jeff (Missy) Harbst, Mike Harbst, and April Harbst; siblings, DeeAnn (Greg) Anderson and Bonnie (Dave) Berry; 8 grandkids, 6 great-grandkids, extended family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Delores Bryant and brothers, Bill and Roger Bryant.
