Laura Egan

A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura Egan, age 65, of Spirit Lake will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at St. Margaret's Cemetery in Spirit Lake.

Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake with the family present from 5-7 pm.

Laura Mae Egan, daughter of Ted and Margaret Basner, was born on January 29, 1960, in Greenville, Michigan. She was united in marriage to Robert Egan on October 1, 1991, in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Over the years, Laura made her home in Greenville, Michigan, Valley City, North Dakota, and Storm Lake before moving to Spirit Lake in 1996. She worked as a CNA throughout her life, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others.

Laura enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She found joy in country music and had a strong appreciation for her country. Above all, Laura cherished time with her grandchildren, daughters, and the rest of her family and friends. She kept treasured photos of loved ones and always held family close to her heart.

Laura passed away at her home in Spirit Lake on July 4, 2025, at the age of 65.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Egan; daughters, Ashley Egan (Zach Wollenburg) and Sarah Egan; grandchildren, Jace Egan, Jameson Egan, Kennedi Egan, and Macy Wollenburg; sisters, Robin Akers, Shawn Pieczko, Patricia Jansen and Karen Basner; brother, Dan Basner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Margaret Basner, and her sister, Marjourie Coles.
