A Celebration of Life Gathering for Ken Bailey, age 77, of Spirit Lake, will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. at Village West Resort. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Kenneth R. Bailey, 77, of Spirit Lake, passed away Friday, February 1st, 2019 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Ken was born September 21st, 1941, the son of Frank Bailey and Blanche Franker Bailey. Ken graduated from Peterson Consolidated Schools in Peterson, Iowa in May of 1959. Ken held many jobs throughout his life, including various area grocery stores, the Everly Locker, later owning B&B Meats in Milford, Iowa and working in multiple departments at Village West Resort for 28 years. Ken loved many things in his life, including fishing, cardinals, his family, and the Minnesota Vikings. Ken especially loved his Village West Family and all of the exchange students that were there. Ken will always be remembered for leaving a "Lasting Impression" on the walls of the Resort. Ken was married to Jackie LeClair in August of 1967. Together they had two wonderful children, Marie and Frankie. They later divorced. In September of 1989, Ken was married to Justeen "JJ" Lewis, embracing her children Sheena and Chad into the family. Their son, Kenneth John, was born in 1991. Ken was preceded in death both of his parents, his brother Kirby, his sisters, Kay and Susan, his ex-wife Jackie LeClair, and his wife JJ. He is survived by his brothers Don, Terry (Mary Jo), and Blair (Anita); his sisters Gail and Karen, his children, Marie, Frankie, Chad, Sheena (Robert) and Kenneth John (Brittany). He is also leaving behind 4 grandchildren; Kazi, Jesse, RJ, and James; and a multitude of grandpets, and great grandpets. What Ken looked forward to most, and will be sad to miss is the end of the Mueller investigation, and seeing the large orange baby wear an orange jumpsuit.
