A graveside service for Glenn Somers, age 93, of Milford, will be held Monday, July 13, 2020 at 10:30AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake.
Glenn Leslie Somers, the son of John and Flora Mae (Williams) Somers, was born January 22, 1927 in Melvin, Iowa. After graduating from Arnolds Park High School, Glenn served in the United States Army for eighteen months.
On June 12, 1954, Glenn was married to Lois A. Stegemann in Boyden, Iowa. They made their home in Arnolds Park while Glenn worked as a lineman for the telephone company for thirty-five years.
Glenn enjoyed fishing, gardening, was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and loved going to casinos.
Glenn passed away July 8, 2020 at Accura Healthcare in Milford, Iowa at ninety-three years of age.
He is survived by his daughter, Shari Nichols and her husband, Jeff of Spirit Lake; son, Michael Somers of Spirit Lake; grandkids and great-grandkids; sister, Shirley Vukson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and brother, Marvin Somers of Spencer, Iowa.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Somers; grandson, Jon Osborn and daughter, Sandra Peska.
