Frederick Grobe

A funeral service for Frederick Grobe, age 73, of Sioux Rapids and formerly of Spirit Lake, will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be at Okoboji Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, October 6th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Frederick Levi Grobe Jr., the son of Frederick John and Ople Grobe was born January 13, 1944, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. His childhood years were spent on the farm, hunting, enjoying the animals and his siblings. He graduated from Spirit Lake school system in 1962. On July 13, 1991, he was united in marriage to his longtime companion, Sandra Feldhacker, in Milford. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. Fred passed away October 4, 2017 at his home in Sioux Rapids, Iowa at seventy-three years of age. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; his parents; son-in-law, Benjamin Place and two brothers-in-law, Richard Pennington and Dale Deardorff. Fred is survived by his children, two sons, Ron (Dora) Hansen of Royal, Iowa and Fred (Gina) Grobe of Fort Dodge, Iowa; one daughter, Kristy Place of Spencer, Iowa; grandchildren, Sarah Hansen of Royal, Alexandra and Levi Grobe of Fort Dodge; two sisters, Betty Pennington of Council Bluffs and Kay Deardorff of Kellar, Texas.
