A funeral service for Frank Hodge, 89, of Milford, will be held Monday, October 29th at 11:00AM at Faith Community Church in Milford. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Terril. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28th from 4:00-6:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Memorials may be given to Lakes Regional Hospice or Faith Community Church. On Wednesday, October 24th, 2018, Frank Andrew Hodge, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 89. Frank was born on August 31st, 1929 in Benson, MN, to Roy Hodge and Agnes Streed. He attended a country school and worked at the dairy farm and as a yardman for JF Anderson and Smith Lumber. After retirement, he continued his work at the Milford City Parks. On August 8th, 1954 he married Pauline C. Bendixen. He built their forever home in Milford, IA in 1956, and together with his wife raised five beautiful children, Susan, Kathy, Paula, Gary and Terri. Frank enlisted in the United States Army on November 19th, 1951, and served as a corporal in Germany until his discharge on October 31st, 1953. Frank was a member of Union Memorial Church and the American Legion. Frank loved his family deeply, and enjoyed participating in all his children's activities. With passions for family, camping, cars, farming, and fun, Frank lived his life in abundance. He was remembered around town for his friendly face, helping hand, and the flipped up bill of his cap. He was known for his quick wit, compassion, and quiet, loving nature. Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pauline Hodge, and his children and their spouses, Susan Hodge (Mike Stocker), Kathy (David) Gaughan, Paula Hodge (Paul Chavez), Gary (Tracy) Hodge, Terri (James) Sarver, and grandkids Michael (Julia) Gaughan, Andrew Gaughan, Ashlie, Ariel, and Avery James, Caleb Hodge, as well as 8 great-grandchildren and his sister, Ruby Brewington, brother and sister-in-law Duane and Pat Ellis, nephews, nieces and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Pete Hodge, sister-in-law, Linda Johnson, and brother-in-law, Dwaine Brewington.
