Emily Van Hunnick

Private family services will be held for Emily Van Hunnick, age 81, of Harris. 

Emily Ann (Ransom) Van Hunnick, beloved daughter of Merle and Kathryn (Hinders) Ransom, was born on September 3, 1943, in Sibley, Iowa. On March 20, 1964, was united in marriage to Clayton Van Hunnick in Bigelow, Minnesota. The couple initially settled in Sibley before moving to Harris, Iowa, in 1970.

Emily was a dedicated housewife and a nurturing mother who took great joy in helping her children and supporting elderly members of her community. A long-time resident of Harris, she was an active member of the Harris Methodist Church.

Emily is survived by her five children: Dave Van Hunnick of Harris, Doug (Ruth) Van Hunnick of Ocheyedan, Iowa, Darcy (Trent) Morphew of Hartley, Iowa, Debbie Ninow of Mankato, Minnesota, and Dawn (Andrew) Meier of Montgomery, Minnesota. She is also cherished by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Clayton. She passed away on October 10, 2024.
