Diane Brumley

Feb 24, 1945 — Sep 3, 2026

Dorothy Diane Maranell Brumley, known throughout her life as Diane, passed away September 3, 2026 at the age of 81.

Diane was born February 24, 1945, in Iowa to Jess and Lois Maranell. She grew up in Milford alongside her brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Richard “Dick,” and graduated from Milford High School. Milford remained home for Diane and much of the Maranell family. Her mother, brothers, and their families stayed close as they raised families of their own, creating the kind of close-knit family where those you loved were rarely very far away.

Diane married Curtis Moore, and from that marriage she was blessed with two sons, Tom and Tony. Her boys were an incredibly important part of her life, and she cherished being their mother.

On June 25, 1994, Diane married Dan Brumley in Lake Park, Iowa. Their marriage brought together two families and added Dan’s children, Clint, Autumn, and Susan, and eventually their children and grandchildren, to the family Diane held dear. Diane and Dan shared more than 31 years of marriage. After living in the Lake Park area, they made their home in Harris in 2012, where they remained until Dan’s passing in October 2025.

Family was at the heart of Diane’s life. One of her greatest heartbreaks came with the unexpected loss of her son Tom in a snowmobile accident in 2011. Losing a child was a grief Diane carried with her, and in the years that followed, she held those she loved—and especially Tony—even closer.

Diane also had a very special place in her heart for her dogs. There was rarely a time in her life when she didn’t have a dog by her side, and anyone who knew Diane knew they weren’t simply pets—they were family. At least two of them were loved enough to have a wedding ceremony of their own. In later years, their beloved dog Harley became part of Diane and Dan’s life together and could often be found accompanying Dan on golf cart rides.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Lois Maranell; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles “Chuck” and Jeannie Maranell and Richard “Dick” and Darlene Maranell; her beloved son, Thomas “Tom” Moore; and her husband, Dan Brumley.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tony Moore; her stepchildren, Clint Brumley, Autumn (Mike) Ross, and Susan (Josh & Amanda) Rambo; her grandchildren, Brooke (Tony) Delgado, Jordan (Jericho) Jones, Nicole Moore, Logan Moore, Connor Moore, Cassandra “Cassie” Marr, Hannah (Nile) Vincent, Cole Brumley (Katey), Tyler McGarrah, Aubre Floyd, Garrison Rambo (Audree), Joshua Rambo, and Katie Bennett; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Diane’s life was rooted in family—in the family she was born into, the family she raised, the family she gained along the way, and, of course, the four-legged family members who always seemed to find a place beside her. Through joy, heartbreak, change, and the passing of years, her love for those she called family remained constant.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
