Deborah "Deb" Johnson

A Memorial Service for Deborah "Deb" Johnson, age 75, of Okoboji will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2:00pm at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00-2:00pm at the church. Private family burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, MN.

On July 4, 2025, heaven welcomed Deborah (Deb) Kay Johnson, age 75 after a long battle against Cancer. 

She was born on February 23, 1950, in Jackson, MN to Delbert and LaVonne Williams. Deb graduated Jackson Highschool and went on to cosmetology school in Fairmont, MN. She enjoyed doing hair for many years, before taking a position with Dickinson County Clerk of Courts where she put in over 30 years before happily retiring. Deb also worked part time for many years at Chaplins – making as many friends as she made dollars. 

She enjoyed the finer things in life, good music, good friends and good beverages!! BJ Thomas’s, ‘Raindrops keep falling on my head’, was one of her favorites – but any opportunity to listen to music with friends was one she hated to miss! She loved her ‘Trips’, whether to visit loved ones or hit the beach, she was up for the adventure. She kept tabs on her nieces and nephews through the years, never missing a milestone! More recently, she enjoyed the events of the next generation of Great nieces and nephews. 

To know Deb was to know her heart was filled by her special four-legged companions, first Dollie and then Jazzie, who was by her side till the end. 

Deb was preceded in death by both her parents and sister-in-law, DeAnn Williams. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings; Dave (Pam) Williams, Diane (Ken) Van Essen, Jim Williams. Her special nephews and nieces; Shannon (Becki) Van Essen, Molly Williams, Stacie (Chad) Sanow, Matt (Katie) Williams, Tracy (Kyle) Dirks, Steph Williams, Trent (Niki) Van Essen, Dylan (Taylor) Williams Tara (Nile) Billings, McKenzie (Brady) Schwartz, and 20 great nieces and nephews.
