Chanelle Gembler

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Chanelle Gembler will be held Monday, June 29, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Lake Park.

Chanelle Gembler, 47, formerly of Lake Park, Iowa, and most recently of Spencer, Iowa, passed away on June 17, 2026.

Chanelle was born on March 17, 1979, to Larry and Donna Gembler at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was raised in Lake Park, Iowa, where she formed the values and relationships that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Above all else, Chanelle was a loving mother to her daughter, Brianna Gembler, who was truly the center of her world. Being Brianna's mom brought her the greatest joy and purpose, and the love she had for her daughter was immeasurable. She carried a constant reminder of that bond, with Brianna’s newborn footprints tattooed across her heart, symbolizing the everlasting love she held for her daughter.

Chanelle had a bright sense of humor and an affectionate spirit that made others feel welcome and loved. She enjoyed music and loved singing karaoke, often turning ordinary moments into memories filled with laughter. She found happiness in scrapbooking and preserving life's special moments and took pride in keeping things neat, organized, and comfortable. She also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, whose companionship brought her much joy.

Although life tested her in many ways, Chanelle never lost her strength or her resolve to keep moving forward. Her journey was not always easy, but she continued to love deeply and cherish the people who meant the most to her. Her family finds peace in knowing that she is now free from the burdens she carried and rests in peace.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved daughter, Brianna Gembler; her mother, Donna Gembler; her sister, Amber Dodds; her brothers, Jason (Julie) Gembler and Shon (Missy) Gembler; her nieces, Kylin and Kinley Dodds, Shandy (Tanner) Timko, and Alaina Hinders; her nephews, Ryan (Chrissy) Gembler and Trent Hinders; and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Gembler; her brother-in-law, Cole Dodds; her paternal grandparents, Howard and Helen Gembler; and her maternal grandparents, Marland and Myrna Wood.

Though we grieve her loss, we give thanks for the love, laughter, and memories Chanelle leaves behind. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her resilience, and most of all, for the immeasurable love she had for her daughter, Brianna.
