COPES (Community
of People Extending Support)
Providing a safe place to share, learn, celebrate, console, grieve.

COPES Purpose:
Bringing people together to better recognize, deal and live with
grief.
COPES Premise:
Those who cope best following a loss belong to a community of
people who come together, often in creative ways, to share, learn,
celebrate, console, a grieve. Asa result, each person can draw
strength and encouragement from one another. Each session will
have a topic, a video or guest speaker, and discussion. refreshments
will be provided. Our topics will address ana array of concerns
that the bereaved encounters, in a informal atmosphere that encourages
interaction, sharing ideas, and supporting one another. Using
a besting selling book, Understanding Grief, Helping Yourself
Heal. (by Alan Wolfelt, Ph.D). Throughout the nine COPES sessions.
Understanding Grief will identify several needs that will help
the mourner reconcile with their grief.
COPES Lending Library
Books, brochures available thorough Turner Funeral Homes. Take

"A Time to Remember... A Candlelight Gathering of Family
& Friends"
The staff of Turner Funeral home invites are residents who have
lost a loved one through death to our annual candlelight service
of remembrance the Sunday following Thanksgiving.
