Funeral:  Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.

A Memorial fund has been established at Liberty Bank in Arnolds Park.

“Marty” Duane Ellsworth Martinson was born August 26, 1930 in Lisbon Township, the son of Oscar and Olga (Anderson) Martinson.  Marty graduated in 1949 in Boyd, Minnesota.  Marty served his county in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On May 21, 1960, Marty was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Barck in Watertown, South Dakota.  He worked as a transport driver for forty years.  Marty was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the VFW in Milford.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and visiting with friends.  He especially loved his family and attending family reunions. 

Marty passed away December 9, 2010 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty years of age.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Martinson and his wife, Shauna and Duane Carlson and his finance, Julie, all of Milford; grandchildren, Penny Kim and her husband, Phil and Clay Carlson; one great-grandchild, Pax; brothers-in-law, Harlan Barck and his wife, Dorothy and Al Barck and his wife, Tanny; one niece, Ramona Schmitz and her husband Robert; cousins, many friends and his very special lady friend, Mary Utesch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann, his parents and his brother, Harlan.
