June Arnold Krebs

Funeral:  Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 11:00am at United Methodist Church in Lake Park

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

 

Burial:  Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park

 

 

    June Maxine Krebs was born July 16, 1927 to Clayton E. Arnold and Ethel (Kline) Arnold in Lake Park, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in Lake Park, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1945.  June received her elementary teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1947.  She taught in both Forest City and Ames, Iowa public school systems before continuing her career in Dallas, Texas.

June was united in marriage to Donald Krebs on August 7, 1949 at the United Methodist Church in Lake Park, Iowa.

Following Donald's untimely death in 1972, June carried on with an active life of raising their sons and making sure they had advanced education for their careers.  She moved to Fullerton, California and was employed by the Fullerton Junior College until her retirement.  June was very active in her church, hosted many parties in her home, was an avid traveler, touring Europe, China, Israel, Africa, Egypt and South America.  She joined a bicycle club and rode on club trips in Europe.

June was a three-time survivor of cancer, and continued with an active life of travel.  She also enjoyed pursuing her talents of making crafts, knitting, flower arranging and jewelry making.  June was an amazing lady!

June passed away on October, 19, 2010 in Fullerton, California at eighty-three years of age.

She is survived by her sons, Ryan Krebs of Austin, Texas, Vance Krebs and his wife Laura, of San Antonio, Texas and Scott Krebs and his wife Jan, of Elk Grove, California.  Also surviving are her granddaughters, Kimberly, Jaqueline and Madeline Krebs; grandsons, Clayton and Hunter Krebs; sisters Jane Heikens (Stan), Jeanine Gunderson (Robert) and Jennifer Krummen (Steve), all of Lake Park, Iowa; sisters-in law, Betty Krebs of Milford, Iowa and Norma Krebs of Corwith, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends in Fullerton, California, Dallas, Texas, Cedar Rapids and Lake Park, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, parents, step-mother (Florence B. Arnold), brothers-in-law, Birney Krebs and her grandparents.
