Funeral:  Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 2:00pm at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji.

Howard Van Daalen was born March 4, 1930 in Doon, South Dakota, the son of Henry and Frances Van Daalen.  Howard served in the Korean War.

Howard was united in marriage to Joanne (Ladegaard) on September 25, 1955.  He worked at Spencer Foods, Eatons and the Fostoria Elevator throughout his life.  He attended the First Lutheran Church in Milford.

Howard passed away October 29, 2010 at the St. Lukes Lutheran Nursing Home in Spencer, Iowa at eighty years of age.

He is survived by his daughters, Lois and Bob Becker of Spencer, Iowa and Jackie Pruitt of Sherburn, Minnesota; son, Larry and Shannon Van Daalen of Waverly, Iowa; grandchildren, Sheila Pruitt, Amanda Van Daalen, Jason Van Daalen, Crystal Van Daalen and Scott Van Daalen; great-grandchildren, Brooke Duncan and Samantha Duncan; brothers-in-law, Ron and Lois Ladegaard and Jim and Sandy Ladegaard.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne; daughter, Sandra; brother, Robert Van Daalen and sister, Marian Reiter.
