Ford M. Wright Jr.

Visitation:  Monday, May 31, 2010 after 5:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Family Funeral Home in Milford.

Funeral:  Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:30am at Turner Jenness Family Funeral Home in Milford.

Burial:  Okoboji Cemetery

Ford M. Wright, Jr. was born July 31, 1922 in Wyndmere, North Dakota the son of Amelia (Springer) and Ford Wright, Sr.  He was raised and educated in Arnolds Park, graduating from Arnolds Park High School.  Ford entered the US Navy, serving during WWII.

On February 22, 1943, Ford was united in marriage to Betty Bumgarner in Arkansas.  The couple made their home in Arnolds Park, where he was an electrician.

Ford was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.  He loved spending time with his two granddaughters and two great grandsons.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  Ford was an avid reader, for enjoyment, knowledge, and keeping track of current events.

Ford passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at eighty-seven years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter Peggy Gottsche, and her husband David of Milford; granddaughters Jennifer Lee, her husband Bruce, and their sons, David and Gabriel Lee, and Emily Gottsche of Dickens; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael, parents, Amelia and Ford Wright, brothers, Layne and Neil Wright, sisters Emma Kennedy and Georgia Ballard and nephews, Jack and Daniel Wright.
