Mary Lucille Crow, daughter of Robert and Bertha Lawhead, was born August 13, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa. Mary graduated in 1943 from North High School in Des Moines. She attended Drake University for one year.

She was united in marriage to Robert Crow on July 1, 1944 at Grace Methodist Church in Des Moines. During their married life, the Crows resided in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Spencer, Iowa, Arnolds Park, Iowa, Mesa, Arizona and Spirit Lake, Iowa.

During much of her professional life, Mary was a business owner and operator. Her business interests included Crow’s Upholstery and Drapery, Crow’s Nest Campgound and Crow’s Nest Resort, all in the Iowa Great Lakes Region.

Mary passed away November 30, 2009 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at eighty-four years of age.

Mary is survived by daughter, Janis McGrauth (husband, William) of Emmetsburg, Iowa; son, Steven (wife, Marsha) of Anaheim, California; daughter-in-law, Becky Crow-Roach of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; son-in-law, Alan Shaffer of Creston, Iowa; brother, Donald Lawhead of Mesa and twelve grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2006; son, Douglas Crow; daughter, Jean Crow-Shaffer; four sisters and four brothers.
