Delores Clark

Delores Mae Clark was born on July 25, 1927, in rural Lake Park, Iowa to George and Amelia Zaiser Mayou. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Lake Park High School.

On January 2, 1947 she was married to Leon Clark at Spirit Lake. They farmed in Dickinson County, Iowa and southern Minnesota where she was a loving housewife and mother. They returned to Spirit Lake in 1979.

Delores was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church, The Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed being a good grandmother and great grandmother. She passed away January 30, 2009 at the Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake surrounded by her loving family.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Saxton and husband, Jeff, of Spirit Lake; sons, Gayle Clark and wife, Sandra, of Milford and Bob Clark and wife, Pat, of Milford; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and sister, Lola Meyerdirk and husband, Stan, of Cherokee. Survivors also include 4 brothers-in-law and their wives, and many other relatives and friends, including her Wel-Life friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, in 1997, her parents, a brother and a sister.
