Betty Ann Moore, the daughter of John and Elva (Patten) Madagan, was born September 14, 1939 in Spencer, Iowa. She married Jerry W. Moore on January 5, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple lived in California, Iowa, Texas, Arkansas and Michigan. They moved back to Spirit Lake in 1988.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the United Methodist Church and the VFW auxiliary. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, a loving mother and grandmother. She worked at Berkley’s home and plant, Lubbock Texas Medical Records, H & R Block in Arkansas and Great Lakes Accounting in Spirit Lake.

Betty, age 69, of Spirit Lake passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 peacefully in her home.

Those still here to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Moore; her children, John Moore and his wife Julie, Ivan Moore and his wife Robin, and Chad Moore; her grandchildren, Conrad, Colin, Callie, Eric, Lily, Jessica, Alex, Reid, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jerry, Windy, Pippi, Amelia, Temperance and David and his wife Kandi; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Brianna and Allison; sisters and brothers, Virginia and Lee Moore, Lola and Marlin Kness, Darrel and Ruth Madagan, Carol and Harold Stephens, Dean and Thelma Madagan and Judi and Gordon Anderson; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric Moore; in-laws, Chester and Frances Moore and sister-in-law, Linda Donhaue.
