R.E. “Bob” Giddings

R.E. “Bob” Giddings was born April 24, 1920 in Burt, Iowa, the son of Guy and Lizzi (Ward) Giddings. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Bob worked as a lineman for the telephone company for many years.

Bob passed away on February 18, 2008 at the Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-seven years of age.

He is survived by his daughters, Gloria, Mrs. Delbert Buchman of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Linda, Mrs. Chuck Roberts of Tampa, Florida, wife, Bonnie Iron Giddings of Milford, Iowa; son, Clyde Irons and his wife Shawn of Surprise, Arizona; grandchildren, Michele, Mrs. John O’Donnell, of Omaha, Nebraska, Delbert and Missy Buchman of Adel, Iowa, Carolyn, Mrs. Jon Loucks, of Omaha, Mike and Lynn Hass of Omaha, Terry and LaRena Buchman of Superior, Iowa, Jodie Strom of Omaha, Mary Crystal, Mrs. Michael Berg, of Urbandale, Iowa, Christina and Brian Siapno of Tampa, Bobby Gillespie of Omaha, Jessica Irons, Mrs. Austin Holder, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Austin and Brandon Irons of Surprise, Arizona; twenty-four great grandchildren; sisters, Zita Fosnaugh of Bancroft, Iowa, and Joan, Mrs. John, Lennertz of Ruthven, Iowa; other family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Jane Blackhurst Giddings and eight brothers and sisters.
