Leland Carl “Leon” Mumm was born October 24, 1952 in Spirit Lake, Iowa the son of Carl and Betty (Finnern) Mumm.  He was raised and educated near Lake Park, Iowa, graduating from Lake Park High School.

For most of his working life, Leon worked in the food service industry, most recently at Danz Restaurant in Milford.

Leon was baptized at Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and bicycling.  He also enjoyed cars.
Leon passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park at fifty-five years of age.

He is survived by his siblings, Sharon Duis and her husband Jess, of Harris, Iowa, Carla Sherack and her husband Mark of Red Wing, Minnesota, Cindy Munden of Spencer, Iowa and James Mumm and his wife Jenna, of Hartley, Iowa.  He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends in Milford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Betty Mumm, and grandmother, Lillie Finnern.
