John (Jack) Reid McCall was born December 4, 1922 in Lorimore, Iowa to Charles Lyle and Bernice Reid McCall.  During WWII he served in the Army Air Corps.
On May 19, 1946 he was married to Phyllis DeMars at Charles City, Iowa.  For the past fifty-three years they lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where John owned a heavy equipment sales and construction company.  They also spent a part of each year at the family farm near Lorimore.

John piloted his own airplane until his mid-sixties, flying all over the U. S., Central and South America.  He and Phyllis loved to travel and toured on six of the seven continents.  They were summer residents of the Lakes for the past twelve years.

John passed away on October 12, 2008 in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-six years of age. 
Surviving are his wife Phyllis; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn McCall and Elliott Klein and their children, Jonathan Klein and Kara Klein; son John McCall and his wife Lesley and their children, Megan McCall and Lindsey McCall. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
