Eleanor Lucille Phelps was born on June 19, 1918 in Hartington, Nebraska, the daughter of George and Maude (Provancha) Van Pelt. 

In 1938, she was married to William Phelps in Storm Lake, Iowa.  They lived most of their lives in Storm Lake and Spirit Lake with the exception of seven years spent in Arizona. 

Eleanor passed away on February 18, 2008 at the Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  She was eighty-nine years of age. 

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Noble of Montgomery, Iowa; four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Stella Glover of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995, one sister, two brothers and her parents.
