Bonnie Marie Meyer was born January 16, 1956, the daughter of Clifford and Rachel McMillan DeShazo in Estherville, Iowa. She was raised on the family farm near Superior, and was educated in Spirit Lake, graduating from Spirit Lake High School.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Richard Meyer on June 11, 1977 in Harris, Iowa. The couple made their home in rural Harris, where they farmed and raised their family.

Bonnie was a member of United Methodist Church in Harris. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She especially loved working with baby animals and visiting her two daughters.

Bonnie passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at her home near Harris, at fifty-two years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Meyer; daughters, Jennifer Meyer, and her fiancé, Alex, and Diane Meyer; sisters, Maxine DeShazo, and Ruth Crisman and her husband Verlon; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Clifford and Rachel DeShazo, and a brother, Bill DeShazo.
