Alvena Barbara Willison was born to John and Clara (Tiefenthaler) Wittrock at Lakeville Township, rural Milford. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School through the tenth grade and graduated from Milford High School in 1936.
    
On August 29, 1939 she was united in marriage to Clifford Willison at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford.  She was a devoted wife and homemaker.
    
Alvena passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Milford Nursing Center where she had been a resident since March of 2007.  She was 90 years of age.
    
She was a member of the St. Joseph Parish, Catholic Daughters of America, and Lady of Fatima Circle.
     
Family was the central focus of her life; she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, quilting and making Christmas a special event for her family.
    
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Willison of Milford; four children, Janet (Jerry) Delaney of Lake Park, IA, John (Tuttie) Willison of Milford, Leslie Hoffman of Milford, and Connie (Don) Cable of Milford, sixteen grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild expected soon.
    
Alvena was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Loretta Jensen, brothers, Albert and Vernon Wittrock and infant siblings Edward and Mary Wittrock
