Stanley Emmet Andersen was born June 15, 1929 at Pomeroy, Iowa to Stanley C. and Laura Nelsen Andersen. He graduated from Rodman (Iowa) High School and Iowa State University. He served in the U. S. Army for 4 years during the Korean Conflict.

On November 25, 1954 he was married to Marcia Lee Goddard at Des Moines, Iowa. Stan and Marcia moved to Spirit Lake in 1966.

During his working career he worked for Mobil Oil Co, was a Division Manager for Buick Motor Co, and was owner of Andersen Motors, Inc in Spirit Lake.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Gideon’s International, United States Golf Association, was a former member of Spirit Lake Kiwanis, Iowa Auto Dealers and the VFW.

Stan died July 28, 2007 at Lakes Regional Health.

Surviving are his wife, Marcia; son, Roger (Laureen) Andersen and their daughter, Emily, of Spencer; daughter, Marlys (Tom) Christensen and their daughters, Tara and Casey, of Windom, MN; daughter, Leslie and her daughter, Bailey, St. Louis, MO; brother, Gordon (Ruth) Andersen of Ruthven, IA; sister; Elinor (Kenneth) Brees of Bonner Springs, KS and sister, Jeanette Brockman of Spirit Lake, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lorraine.
