Patricia Potter

Patricia Ann Potter was born January 29, 1931, the daughter of Burl and Jennie (Hall) Ellis in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Spirit Lake, graduating from Spirit Lake High School in 1949.

Patty was united in marriage to Reed Potter on October 10, 1954 at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake where they raised their children, Scott and Julie.

Patty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star as well as the VFW Auxiliary. Patty truly cared for people, and was particularly known for her baked goods. Above all, however, Patty loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Patty passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Avera Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at seventy-six years of age.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Reed Potter of Spirit Lake; children, Scott Potter and his wife Joy, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Julie Bergquist and her husband Peter of Spirit Lake. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rachael Bergquist, Spenser Bergquist and Eric Potter; other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
