Marlys C. Williams

Marlys Charnelle Williams was born January 11, 1926 at Little Rock, Iowa to Nellie and Charles Counsell. She graduated from Little Rock High School and the American Business Institute of Des Moines.

On June 4, 1949 she was married to Henry Russell Williams at Denver, Colorado. They traveled the world while he was in the U. S. Army. They lived in Denver, Osaka, Japan, San Francisco and Germany. At his retirement in 1968 they moved to Spirit Lake.

Marlys was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spirit Lake. She enjoyed bowling and volunteering at Lakes Regional Hospital and the Spirit Lake Elementary School. She died June 11, 2007 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Surviving are her son, Tom Williams, and his wife, Jennifer, of Cornelius, Oregon; granddaughters, Taylor and Bailey and daughter-in-law, Roxanne Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, son, Russ, and brother, Russell Counsell.
