Maxine Leota Schroeder was born on February 3, 1920 in Lakota, Iowa, daughter of John and Ann (Bruns) Griese.  She attended the country school and graduated from the High School in Lakota, IA.  She attended college in Waterloo, IA.

On December 22, 1970 she was united in marriage to Melvin Schroeder at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  She lived at a resort in northern Minnesota, the Twin Citiess Fairmont and Lakota, Iowa before moving to Spirit Lake in 1976 after retirement.  Maxine loved painting, decorating and design work.

Maxine passed away on January 25, 2007 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-six years of age. 

She is survived by her husband Melvin Schroeder of Spirit Lake, IA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ann Griese of Lakota, IA.
