Mary Marguerite Edwards was born March 2, 1921 in Clay County, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Martha (Morris) Watson. She was raised and educated near Spencer, graduating from Spencer High School in 1941.

She was united in marriage to Warren Faulkner in 1938. To this union was born a son, Thomas. Marguerite moved to Spirit Lake in 1945.

She married Floyd Eldon Edwards on November 4, 1946. To this union were born William, Robert, LaDonna and Leanne. Thomas was later adopted by Floyd.

Marguerite worked for Berkley’s for over thirty years. She also worked for Northwestern Bell and Upper Des Moines Opportunity. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing. She also enjoyed writing, cooking and story-telling. No one loved a joke more than her.

Marguerite passed away Monday, June 11, 2007 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at eighty-six years of age.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Tootie), Willie (Sandy), Bob (Lyn), LaDonna (Larry) and Leanne. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd, brother Robert, and a grandson, Todd.
