Perlina Lovella Ritterholz was born on June 6, 1912 in Estherville, Iowa, the daughter of Erick and Caroline (Lovsletten) Erickson. She graduated from Estherville High School.

On June 4, 1938, Lovella was united in marriage to William Ritterholz in Estherville, Iowa. The couple moved to Lake Park where they made their home.

Lovella enjoyed life to its’ fullest and started every day with a crossword puzzle. Flowers, gardening, bird watching and her granddaughter, Christi’s summer visits were among her favorite things. She also enjoyed numerous crafting hobbies along with being a wonderful cook. She was “famous” for her apple pie.

Lovella passed away on February 22, 2007 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-four years of age.

She is survived by her children, Karolynne Reinke and her husband Howard and Dennis Ritterholz and his wife Sue and daughter, Stephanie Able-Swanson; granddaughter, Christi Luhring and her husband Christopher; great-granddaughter, Whitney Luhring; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Lovella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill; sisters, Helga Herem, Anna Kinney and Edna Bevard.
