James P. Murray

James Patrick Murray was born January 3, 1926 at Ayrshire, Iowa to William Murray and Josephine Emma (Wigen) Murray. Jim graduated from high school Spirit Lake, attended college in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Pharmacy.

On October 6, 1952 he was married to Madonna Marie Raher at Sioux City. They made their home in Milford where Jim joined the family business, Murray Drug.

Jim was active in the Milford community as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a past member of Kiwanis and Lions. Other interests were first, his family, then golf, bowling, ham radio and camping.

Jim was a veteran of WW ll as a communications specialist for 3 years with the US Army. Jim died November 8 at Sioux Falls, SD.

He is survived by his wife, Madonna (Donna); daughter, Cindy, son, Dan, daughter Cathy (Mary) and son, Jason; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, William and Josephine Murray; brothers, Robert, William and Lynard and nephew, William (Billy).
