Gary Arthur Long was born June 18, 1944 in Spirit Lake, Iowa the son of Arthur and Lois “Minnie” (Uden) Long. He was raised in Marcus, Iowa before moving with his family to Hartley, Iowa. He graduated from Hartley High School.

Gary operated and managed the bowling alley in Hartley until moving to the Lakes area in the late 70’s. He managed the American Legion Supper Club in Milford for several years.

Gary enjoyed bowling and the restaurant business.

Gary died June 11, 2007 at his home in Spirit Lake. No services were held.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lois Long, and his brother, Tom Long.

He is survived by his three children; brother, John Long and his wife, Nancy and their daughter, Jennifer, of Milford; aunts and uncles.
