Ellen left a mark on many students as one great teacher. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Park and was a member of the Federated Women’s Club. God Hath Not Promised

God hath not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our days through.

God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow
Peace without pain.
But God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way,

Grace for the trails,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy
Undying love . . .
