Emily A. “Chub” Miller


A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, May 29th, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford for Emily Ann Miller, 90 of Milford who passed away Friday, May 25th at the Milford Nursing Center. Msgr. Kenneth A. Seifried officiated. Interment followed at the Calvary Cemetery in Milford.

Emily Ann Miller was born at St. Paul, Minnesota on June 18, 1916 to John and Amelia (Kepple) Heinz.

On August 28, 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert Jay Miller at Fort Snelling Chapel and to this union four children: George, Jerry, Judi and Jeanne were born. The couple lived at The Hague, Holland and in seven states before retiring at Southern Pines, North Carolina and then relocating to Spirit Lake in 1998. She was a good Army wife and liked to entertain. “Chub” as she was affectionately known loved to dance and did the crossword puzzle and Jumble every day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jerry, grandson, Robert J. Miller and sister, Helen H. Berger.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert J. Miller, of Milford; son, George J. Miller of Parkersburg, IA; two daughters, Judi Wilkinson and her husband, David of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Jeanne Boley and her husband, Norm of Spirit Lake; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Service arrangements were directed by Turner Funeral Home in Milford.
