Clifford R. Plagman
Clifford R. Plagman was born on March
9, 1930 in Peterson, IA, the son of Rudolph and Mildred (Bailey) Plagman.
He graduated from Peterson High School and attended the DeVry Technical
College in Chicago, IL. Clifford served his country in the Korean
War.
On September 12, 1954, he was united in marriage to Shirley Erichsen
in Peterson, IA. The couple moved to Milford, IA in 1955. Clifford
started Plagman TV in 1961 selling televisions and service along with
installing TV antennas. Later, he added record sales, musical instruments
and building sound systems to the business. In 1965, along with John
Senn and Roger Blunt, he started IGL Recording. He engineered on many
of the recordings produced there including their biggest hit “Peter
Rabbit” by DJ and the Runaways. In 1981, he got his start in
the cable TV business and was responsible for bringing cable TV to
fifteen Iowa communities.
Clifford was a member of the American Legion and attended the Methodist
Church.
Clifford passed away on April 5, 2007 in Spirit Lake, IA at seventy-seven
years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Matthew Plagman; sisters-in-law,
Deborah Wilson and Gail Plagman; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willard Plagman
and his wife, Wanda; and brother, Ellis Plagman.
