Barbara Ann Gangestad passed away on the morning of June 1, 2007 in Rockport, Texas at seventy five years of age. She was born August 16, 1931 at Topeka, Kansas to Orville and Marian Carlson Gilbert.

Barbara moved to Texas with her daughter, Jodi, following the death of her husband Melvin in 2003.

She enjoyed the company of her daughter and grandchildren going shopping, playing on the beach and, of course, bingo, but she never completely got over the loss of her beloved Melvin. Barbara was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and numerous other health problems plagued her until her death.

She is survived by her sister, Juanita Hansford; son, Mark Gangestad and his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Jodi Lynch, and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Mark Jr., and his wife, Jeanette; Tammy and daughter, Riley; Ashley Schettler and Alexander Schettler, Jami Day and her husband, Steve; Krystal Beaver and her husband, Ryan and son, Sammy, and other family and friends.
