Sylvester Holle

Sylvester Gerhart Holle was born on February 5, 1918 at May City, Iowa to Christian and Ida Steinke Holle. He received his education at the parochial school in May City.

On June 27, 1943 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Dorothy Ihnen at Worthington. In the early years of their marriage they farmed near Lake Park, then moved to a farm near Round Lake in 1967. He was actively involved in his church, community club and saddle club. He took pleasure in restoring his first tractor, a Farmall F20 and driving it in parades. He enjoyed telling stories and telling jokes with family and friends. He also took great pride and joy in his grandchildren’s activities

Sylvester died May 26, 2006 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; 3 daughters, Sheryl (Ron) Peters of Sibley, IA, Gayle (Court) Baumgard of Round Lake, MN and Jean (Keith) Wilson of Worthington; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and sister, LeAnn (Richard) Jaacks of Spirit Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
