Shirley Bremer Shirley Ann Bremer was born February 16, 1932 at Terril, Iowa to Durward and Ida Probst Taylor. On October 10, 1952 she was married to Norman Bremer at Terril. They farmed at Ocheyedan before moving to Spirit Lake in 1985. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Spirit Lake. Her family was central to her life. Shirley died January 19, 2006 at the Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake. Surviving is her husband, Norman; sons, Michael Lee Bremer and his wife, Lori, of Hopkinsville, KY, Robert Dean Bremer of Spirit Lake and Steven Ray Bremer and his fiancé, Trishelle of Spirit Lake; sister, Maxine Huntsinger and her husband, TJ, of Spirit Lake; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
