Maxine Lillian Schuneman was born on June 10, 1917 to Vern and Frances (Brackett) Plymesser in Emmetsburg, Iowa.  She received her education in Arnolds Park, IA.

She was united in marriage to Joseph S. Schuneman on March 20, 1933 at St. Joseph Church in Milford, IA.  Two sons were born to this union.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Milford and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Unit 24 Sun City Star in Sun City, AZ, American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 384 in Milford and a member of the Dickinson County Hospital Auxiliary of Spirit Lake.

Maxine passed away on March 10, 2006 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-eight years of age.

She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Veronica Schuneman and Kay Schuneman; eight grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph in 1974, two sisters, three brothers, two sons and one granddaughter.
