Lucille McClain Lucille Rose McClain was born on April 8, 1916 in Polk, NE, the daughter of Rose and John Carlson. She attended school in Polk, NE. On December 5, 1935 she was united in marriage to Herbert McClain in Kansas City, MO. The couple farmed in Ocheyedan, IA and later moved to Terril for one year. In 1940, they moved to Harris, IA and in 1963 they moved to Laurel, NE then Odeboldt, IA. In 1966 they moved to a farm near Lake Park, IA until retirement. They spent their retirement years in Haines City, FL and Harris, IA. In November 2002, Lucille moved into the Lake Park Care Center. Lucille enjoyed gardening, birds and flowers, especially roses. She also enjoyed bowling and playing shuffle board. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harris, IA. Lucille passed away on September 2, 2006 at the Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, IA at ninety years of age. She is survived by her children, Harvey and his wife Marsha McClain of Harris, IA, Joyce Stark of Jacksonville, AK, Richard and his wife Loretta McClain of Harris, IA; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in Dec, 1989; sister, Mabel Millsap; brothers, Russell Carlson, Ray Carlson and Loren Carlson; one infant grandson.
