Lorene A. Mayou Lorene A. Mayou was born May 8, 1927 the daughter of George and Viola (Burke) Bryan in Dickinson County, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Spirit Lake graduating from Spirit Lake High School. She then attended college for two years. Lorene was united in marriage to Gerald Mayou in May 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. The couple made their home in Lake Park, where they raised their family. Lorene loved golf, bowling, bingo and cards. Lorene passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 at her home in Lake Park at seventy-eight years of age. She is survived by her children, Avis Tourville, her husband Tom, of Spirit Lake, and their son Bill Tourville of Lacrosse, WI; Mike Mayou, his wife Anita, and their sons David Mayou of Omaha, NE, and Matthew Mayou of Lake Park; Carol Rost, her husband Randy, and their children Michelle Avery and daughter Amani Avery of North Carolina and Raquel Rost of Harris; brother Delbert G. Bryan and his wife Dede of Mesa, AZ; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald in 1973, an infant son, Dennis, sister, LaVonne Herbranson and brother-in-law, Clarence Herbranson.
