Jessie Goettsch Jessie Faye Goettsch was born to Ray and Amanda Gilmore on December 11, 1919 at Milford, Iowa. She was married to Vern William Goettsch Sr. in 1945 at Hartley. They lived in Long Beach, California before moving to the lakes area in 1952. She was a past member of the Assembly of God Church. Jessie died November 12, 2006 at the Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake. Surviving are her three sons, Vern Goettsch of Santa Clara, CA, Tom Goettsch of Sunnyvale, CA and Terry Goettsch of Arnolds Park, IA; sisters, Betty Johnson of Hartley, IA and Peggy Meurer of Phillips, MT; and brother, Robert Gilmore of Milford, IA. Jessie loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Her favorite thing was to have a big family dinner and afterward play a rousing game of cards.
