Helen Shields Helen Irene Steinke Shields was born May 26, 1918 the daughter of John and Gusta Steinke in Harrison Township, Osceola County, Iowa. She was raised in Milford, Iowa, graduating from Milford High School. She was united in marriage to William Lowell Clark Shields on December 19, 1945. The couple made their home in Milford with their son, John Scott. Helen was a member of First Lutheran Church in Milford. She enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers, crafts and cooking. Helen passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Coralville, Iowa at eighty-seven years of age. She is survived by her son, John Scott Shields and his fiancée, Kristina Yows.
