Gwenith Shelton Gwenith Mary Shelton was born March 23, 1918, in Milford, Iowa. She married Clarke Shelton on September 23, 1936. To this union two daughters were born, Nancy and Lois. Gwen lived in the Milford area until 2000 when she moved to Wesley Acres Retirement Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Most of her life she was a farm wife and was very involved with farm related organizations. She was an active member of the Union Memorial Church for many years, a member of Eastern Star, and enjoyed singing in Sweet Adeline’s. She enjoyed writing poetry and had a column featured in a local paper titled Gems by Gwen. Mrs. Shelton passed away November 23, 2006 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarke; parents Barney and Mabel Boers; and a grandson, Jeff Wolthuis. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Larry) Wolthuis of Mexico, Missouri, Lois (Greg) Sweet of Norwalk, Iowa; four grandchildren, Laurie (Mike) Gadea, Jana (Terry) Follis, Brian (Alison) Sweet, and Jeremy (Christie) Sweet; six great grandchildren, Shawn and Andy Gadea, Hannah and Lauren Follis, and Madison and Parker Sweet; one brother, Lewis Boers; and a special friend, Leonard Lull.
